With this lovely weather, we are spending lots of time in our gardens. This week I would love if you could design a wind chime to hang in your garden. I don't want you going to the shop and buying lots of materials for this. Check the recycling bin, the shed, the arts and crafts box. There are many things you could use: wire hangers, keys, spoons, tin cans, shells, sticks, fishing wire, string. Keep it simple and have fun :) Like last week I will have a little prize for my favourite 3 :) Closing date for entries is Sunday 31st May. Here are some examples below for inspiration but I know yours will be better as usual :)
Well done to the 10 boys who participated in this week's "Design a Potato" challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed receiving them. A lot of hard work went into designing original creations. It was very hard to judge and had to get an outside adjudicator- "Mammy Smyth" to help me. Together we chose these: 1st place 2nd Place Joined 3rd place Keep an eye on the post in the coming days for your little prize.
Here are some more entries to our competition. It is going to be very hard to judge.!! "Spuddy Mercury"
Final day for entries to the competition is Sunday. Thanks to all who have entered so far. They are really cool :) "Cillian Kicking Covid 19" "Corona Virus" This lad decided to make 2 :) Spiderman
This is another happy class member. His Mum sent me the photo after he heard he had won his pen licence. Well done and keep up the neat handwriting!!
Here is a very busy lad since we finished school. He spent all weekend helping his parents put in their new garden. I think you are doing a wonderful job. When you are finished maybe you could come to Castleblayney and work on my garden? :)
Our class are so creative and I am really missing our weekly art lessons. Therefore, this week's challenge will be art based. I would like you to decorate a potato, yes a potato :) You could make an animal or a person, real or imaginary. Then take a photo with your potato and email it to [email protected]. Entries should be submitted before next Sunday 24th May.
My 3 favourite entries will each receive a little prize in the post. I have posted some examples below to help you. Best of luck and have fun!! Well done to everyone who participated in this week's handwriting competition. It was very difficult but I managed to choose my three favourite pieces. If you see your handwriting in the pictures below please ask a parent to contact me by e-mail for your pen licence which will be sent to you on Monday. For anyone who didn't receive one this time DON'T give up. Practise Makes Perfect!!
Have a lovely weekend :) |
